111 E Chestnut is located in the heart of Chicago just steps from Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile. The building finds itself centrally located in a neighborhood full of iconic buildings. To the east is the old John Hancock Building and Water Tower Place. North of the building is Forth Presbyterian Church and the Bloomingdales Building. To the west is the old Quigley Preparatory Seminary and the Sofitel. To the south is the historic Chicago Water Tower and Navy Pier. The Gold Coast neighborhood features some of the world's finest designer stores, first-rate restaurants and plenty of fantastic entertainment. History

Construction on 111 East Chestnut began in 1971. The modern style exterior of the building is made up of glass and white concrete designed by architects Solomon, Cordwell, Buenz and Associates. The lobby is a throwback to the 1920’s Art Deco style with beautiful brass doors. The building was converted from apartments to condominiums in around 1998. The residential floors begin on floor 11 and continue to the penthouses on the 57th floor. 111 E Chestnut was originally 444 unit building featuring 600 and 700 sqft studios, 1,000 sqft 1-bedroom units, and 1,425 and 1,600 sqft 2-bedrooms. Today, many units have been combined to create larger 1,300, 2,000 or 2,600 sqft 2-3 bedroom units. After a certain point the sheer walls stop and end units can be combined.   

 

Common Areas

111 E Chestnut is a full amenity building with 24-hour door staff. On the 9th floor, there is an atrium inspired hospitality room that has hosted wedding receptions and the floor also has two separate barbecue decks. The amenities on floor 10 features an outdoor heated pool that was recently relined in 2018, a gym that was refurnished around 2016, additional washer and dryers, an on-site dry cleaner and shoe repair.
